HB4536

Hi, everyone. 

This post provides a PayPal link for dog park walkers and neighborhood/area residents to make contributions toward payment of lobbyist Mike Warner for the work he has done and will continue to do to prevent the HB4536 language from being passed into law either as an independent bill or as an amendment to another bill. We are very fortunate to have the benefit of an experienced and highly-effective lobbyist working for us. I encourage you to make a contribution at whatever level you are able.

As reported in previous emails, Mike already has been working on our behalf to fight HB4536. He decided to start working on this almost two weeks ago before any payment arrangement was put into place because it would have been detrimental to wait given that the bill was scheduled for committee hearing on April 1. He reported success in getting HB4536 itself withdrawn, which is a great first step.
For a project such as this (fighting a specific bill, and monitoring subsequent amendments to ensure that the language doesn’t get passed elsewhere) he would normally charge in the neighborhood of $10,000 to $15,000. However, he is willing to do this for whatever we can collect — as a personal favor — because he knows how important the dog park is to me and my dog Fiona. He also knows how important it is to our many people and pooch friends who routinely enjoy the property, and (use as a dog park aside) how important maintaining that undeveloped open space is to those of us who live in the area.

Again — I encourage you to contribute at whatever level you are able. I will contribute because this cause is very important to me, and I want to see Mike compensated fairly for his efforts. A number of other people responded to my previous emails indicating that they would like to contribute.  Any contribution you make will be greatly appreciated.
